Director’s Visions As a designer, you will be working and collaborating with the director of the piece. The director will have a strong feeling of how they want to stage the piece and the themes that they want to focus on. Choose one of the five Director’s Visions below which will help to focus your design ideas
Option 1: Verdi was adamant that La traviata was “un soggetto dell’epoca” – or, a subject for our time. I want to be true to that wish and direct a production that feels that it is a subject for us in 2016. How can we remain faithful to the essence of the opera, but set it in a way that feels wholly contemporary?
